Recharge Platform

Earlier I was talking about e-top up solutions. So I guess it is the best time for me to write about recharge platforms because to implement such e-top up solutions a recharge platform is needed. These recharge platforms can be e-solutions (where they can top up via the web) or m-solutions (where they can top up via the mobile) or can be used to provide both.

What kind of services does a platform of this kind provide? It can be used to extend prepaid service reach by improving access ,convenience and service delivery to new and existing customers. Recharge platforms enable electronic transfer of  talktime and provides a method of directly and indirectly topping up prepaid subscriber accounts via various access channels like STK,WEB,SMS & USSD. In addition, it can extend service to postpaid customers by enabling them to pay their bills from a company’s authorised channel network. Subscribers can also be given the facility of paying for services like electricity bills, water and gas bills via this platform.

Transactions happening through these recharge platforms are encrypted (e.g.:- using 256 RSA encryption) and data is stored securely also (e.g.:- using secure socket layer).

Implementing a recharge platform provide various benefits to the customer regarding payments and top ups which in turn increases customer delight. Most of the Mobile Service providers are deploying such platforms currently since it has become an essential part of the business. Therefore it is not far to see a day when customers would be provided with more newer schemes of services through this.
