First of all I am going to explain a bit about the two terms I have used in the topic; And then about the relationship among them.
So what are these utility companies? Utility companies involve organizations which provide services such as electricity, gas, building facilities etc.
E-top up solutions? Well, it is a method where users of a service get the opportunity of topping up their billing accounts through a website.
And now the most important question!
How do Utility Companies make use of e-top up solutions and why do they need it?
To answer that, we have to analyze some of the the history related to economy a bit. For the past few years, the economy has been treating every industry roughly including the utility industries. Most of the companies have closed down and the rest are managing just barely. Why? Because the consumers are unable to pay their bills on time or pay them at all in this weakening economy. Delays in payments could be due to late arrivals of payment delivery methods. In addition, emergency payments always tends to get delayed in the process as well, making the consumers lose the facility. When the company receive the payment finally, then they have to fix the consumer connection again making it doubly costly for them. So no wonder that they go bankrupt!
Such conditions made it obvious that utility companies have to discover new methods to reduce costs and keep their customer base. Immediate plans to re-engineer those businesses were required; And IT was the best alternate to turn to. As a solution to receive timely payments and reduce the cost of re-work one of the best methods was allow payments via agent web sites. This solution is being implemented through the e-top up method by most of the leading utility companies in the world now making life easier for both the consumer and the organization. Earlier it was usually done using top up cards with parameters to enter to the billing meter. However, this new solution reduces the costs spent on unnecessary paper cards and late payments making it the savior of most companies which are on the verge of losing business!!
